Shooting in Heritage Homes in New Rochelle, One Reported Deceased

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — A tragic shooting in the Heritage Homes neighborhood left a young man dead after multiple shots were fired. The incident occurred on Rhoda Quash Lane in New Rochelle.

UPDATE: Still nothing official from NRPD but source now saying victim was 22-year-old from Mount Vernon, NY.

New Rochelle Police Name Victim in Fatal Shooting, 3 Charged

Police have yet to put out a statement but witnesses confirmed the teenager’s death at the scene.

Authorities have apprehended three suspects related to the shooting. The arrests were made on Lincoln Avenue and in the parking lot of 33 Lincoln. The suspects are currently in custody, though details regarding their identities and charges have not yet been released.

The New Rochelle Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident, with further details expected as the case develops. The community is urged to come forward with any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.

UPDATE FROM NRPD 2:24 PM

We are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Heritage Homes this morning. The victim is a 22 year old male from Mt Vernon who was pronounced deceased.

This is an active investigation and a press release is forthcoming once we have more information.

The victim’s name will be released when next of kin have been notified and allowed time make their notifications to other family members.

Detectives are actively working on leads and processing the crime scene.

Our current information is that the shooter knew the victim and that there is no known active danger to the public.
