NEW ROCHELLE, NY (March 11, 2025) — The New Rochelle Youth Bureau is kicking off an exciting new initiative, Science Explorers, designed to spark curiosity and inspire young minds during Spring Break. The free program, aimed at New Rochelle residents, will run from April 14 to April 17, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., at Downtown Rec, located at 29 LeCount Pl, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
Led by Senior Youth Worker Ajani Thomas, Science Explorers offers children hands-on learning opportunities through fun and educational science experiments. The program is part of a broader effort by the Youth Bureau to expand afterschool offerings focused on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education.
“We are thrilled to launch our ‘Science Explorers’ program, marking the beginning of a series of dynamic afterschool opportunities for our community’s youth,” said Diana Fosella, Assistant Director of the New Rochelle Youth Bureau. “STEM education is essential in today’s world, providing young minds with the critical skills they need to solve problems, think creatively, and thrive in an ever-evolving future. This program is an exciting step forward in fostering curiosity, innovation, and a passion for discovery in our next generation, and we can’t wait to see how it inspires our participants.”
The program is open to all New Rochelle youth, and parents are urged to register their children early to secure a spot. For more details or to sign up, contact Ajani Thomas at (914) 654-2045.
