NEW ROCHELLE, NY (March 24, 2025) — A 27-year-old man was brutally attacked early Tuesday at a gas station, leaving him with a severe facial laceration, New Rochelle police said.

The assault occurred around 3:25 a.m. on March 24 at the intersection of Main Street and Woodland Avenue. The victim, who was walking home from the Drake Main Café, got into a verbal dispute with two men that quickly turned physical, according to authorities. One of the suspects slashed the victim across the face with a scalpel, requiring stitches. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is now recovering.

Detectives from the Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center assisted in the investigation, using resources to track and locate the suspect’s vehicle later that morning. Police arrested Tyreek Brown, 29, of the Bronx, charging him with second-degree assault, a felony under New York State Penal Law Section 120.05. Brown, believed to be the individual who carried out the slashing, is currently in custody. Authorities are still working to determine the role, if any, of the second man involved in the altercation.
