RYE, NY (April 22, 2025) — A 40-year-old Greenwich, Connecticut, woman was arrested late Saturday night in Rye, New York, for driving while intoxicated with three children in her vehicle, state police said.

Claudia R. Ruiz was stopped by New Rochelle State Police troopers at approximately 11:13 p.m. on April 20, 2025, while driving a 2014 Toyota Camry northbound on Interstate 95 in Rye. The traffic stop was initiated due to multiple violations of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

She faces three counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger under Leandra’s Law, classified as an E felony, as well as charges of Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Ruiz was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Rye City Court on May 13, 2025.
