WHITE PLAINS, NY (April 25, 2025) — New York Attorney General Letitia James will host a community impact hearing on May 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at SUNY Westchester Community College to hear from New Yorkers affected by the Trump administration’s policies.

Joined by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin, James will discuss efforts to protect residents’ rights and uphold the rule of law.

Since January 20, 2025, James and her fellow attorneys general have filed 12 lawsuits and 18 amicus briefs against the Trump administration to counter service cuts, funding freezes, mass layoffs, and other policies they deem harmful. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is focused on defending critical services and fighting federal overreach, according to a statement from James’ office.

New Yorkers impacted by these policies are encouraged to share their experiences. Those wishing to provide oral testimony must submit written testimony online by 5:00 p.m. on May 8, 2025. Attendees can also submit questions for the attorneys general. Community members must register online, and the event address will be provided upon registration.

Local elected officials will attend the hearing, which will be livestreamed at ag.ny.gov/livestream. Media must RSVP to nyag.pressoffice@ag.ny.gov. For more details, visit the New York Attorney General’s website.
