DUBLIN, IRELAND (June 18, 2025) — A summons from the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York was served on behalf of Robert Cox, a Dublin, Ireland-based author and journalist, that he has initiated a civil action against The Quinn Law Firm and attorney Lalit K. Loomba, Esq.

The lawsuit, filed on May 27, alleges copyright infringement and breach of Terms of Service related to an article and image Cox published on January 6, 2025, titled “My Response to Lawfare by Dawn Warren, Adam Salgado, and the City of New Rochelle.” Cox claims the defendants distributed his copyrighted work without permission, causing estimated financial harm, and had previously sent a cease-and-desist letter on May 10, 2025, demanding the infringement cease.

In a U.S. federal court, after a defendant is served with a summons and complaint in a copyright infringement lawsuit, they typically have 21 days to file a response, such as an answer, motion to dismiss, or other responsive pleading, as outlined in Rule 12 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

As the Service Date June 9, 2025, the defendants have 21 days from the date of service to respond, which would be June 30, 2025.
