NEW ROCHELLE, NY (June 28, 2025) — Federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the FBI, and the New York Police Department (NYPD) conducted an early morning raid in New Rochelle on Thursday, June 26, reportedly targeting five individuals—two male Hispanics and three female Hispanics — according to witnesses.

The operation took place at 50 Col. Lee Archer Boulevard at the Heritage House townhouses between 5:30 am and 6:00 am.

In recent months, NYPD has participated in joint operations on immigration enforcement and removal with ICE, HSI, FBI and other federal agencies when the focus is on criminal suspects, particularly those involved in violent crimes or transnational issues like drug trafficking or gang activity.

Local residents say the people taken into custody were suspected of involvement in a car theft ring and potentially linked to the dangerous Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. There is no official confirmation of who was taken into custody or why. Witnesses reported the use of long guns, flash bangs and helicopters overhead during the operation.

The New Rochelle Police Department (NRPD) confirmed to Talk of the Sound that HSI notified them of the raid, stating no local police assistance was needed. No New Rochelle officers were involved in the operation. No NRPD Detectives canvassed the neighborhood to interview residents about details of the raid. NRPD did not advise residents to contact them if approached by ICE agents to verify credentials.

Homeland Security/ICE did not respond to repeated emails seeking additional information.

Federal agents and NYPD officers were recorded gathering in the parking lot of Dave and Busters in nearby Pelham Manor, NY, before the raid. The video was posted on social media, saying 5:45 a.m. on June 26, 2025.

A voice on the video says this is a “second group” following a first wave of “army-type guys” in green uniforms and helmets.

The following day, on Friday, June 27, the Mamaroneck Police Department (MPD) put out a statement that MPD received a call at 8:17 a.m. confirming Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) presence in Mamaroneck. MPD said ICE told them they were conducting raids near Columbus Park in Mamaroneck, targeting an undocumented individual with criminal convictions. MPD Detectives canvassed the area and learned that while the targeted individual was not found, another undocumented person with a criminal record, residing at 516 Van Ranst Place was arrested. The Mamaroneck Police Department did not assist in the investigation but advised residents to contact them at if approached by ICE agents to verify credentials.

On June 3, ICE took four men into custody at the Home Depot in New Rochelle, according to a report in The Gothamist.

Homeland Security and ICE did not respond to emails seeking additional information on the Mamaroneck operation or the Home Depot operation. Updates will be provided if responses are received.

The audio on the video was muted by request of the videographer but it should be noted that the audio contained a discussion of residents concerns about the perceived failure of Cornell Pace, the property manager at Heritage Homes, to conduct background checks on prospective tenants.
