WHITE PLAINS, NY (July 9, 2025) — A New Rochelle man previously indicted on charges related to child sexual abuse material now faces additional charges, including rape and sexual abuse, following an investigation into the assault of a local boy, Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced.

Hugo Horacio Perez-Gabriel, 32, was indicted on charges of Rape in the Third Degree, Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence, all class E felonies, as well as Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, and Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, a class B misdemeanor. He was arraigned Tuesday before Judge Robert Prisco, where he pleaded not guilty. Judge Prisco ordered Perez-Gabriel remanded pending further court proceedings.

“Any abuse of children, not to mention repeated sexual abuse, is especially grotesque,” Cacace said. “My administration is committed to holding abusers accountable, and this new indictment represents that unwavering commitment. The children of Westchester are our legacy, and we must do everything in our power to ensure their safety.”

Perez-Gabriel was previously indicted on March 11 on 22 counts related to the possession and promotion of child sexual abuse material. Those charges include two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, a class C felony, and 17 counts of Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony, among others. He also pleaded not guilty to those charges.

The New Rochelle Police Department is conducting the ongoing investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Charlotte Gudis and Bureau Chief Christine Hatfield of the Special Prosecutions Division.
