NEW ROCHELLE, NY (September 2, 2025) — Get ready to reel in some fun at the 22nd annual Kids Snapper Fishing Derby at Hudson Park on Saturday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to noon.
This family-friendly tradition celebrates the joys of fishing, the beauty of our waterfront, and a little friendly competition—all in one unforgettable day.
The derby is open to New Rochelle youth ages 6-16. All bait and tackle will be supplied but participants must bring their own fishing gear and must be accompanied by an adult.
Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place contestants.
The event is presented in honor of founder and marina advocate, the late Robert A. Cerreta, and is sponsored by Friends of New Rochelle Parks. Robert Cerreta was remembered for his passion for fishing, instilled by his mother who first took him to fish at Hudson Park as a young boy. He worked hard to pass on this same pleasure to younger generations. He was a longtime member of the New Rochelle Advisory Committee on the Waterfront and also served as the Chief Ranger of the New Rochelle Forester’s Club of America.
To register or for more information contact the Marina at (914) 235-6930.
