NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (Dec. 11, 2025) — The City of New Rochelle is now accepting applications for a new Active Duty/Veterans Parking Permit Program that will provide designated parking spaces for current and former U.S. Armed Forces members in municipal lots and city parks beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
APPLY HERE: Active Duty/Veterans Parking Permit Program
The program was unanimously adopted by the New Rochelle City Council on Sept. 16.
“A parking space is just a small way to show our appreciation for the countless sacrifices made by our Active Duty and Retired Servicemembers,” City Manager Wilfredo Melendez said. “The Active Duty/Veterans Parking Permit reflects our commitment to those who have honorably served their country.”
“The men and women who volunteer to serve in the United States Armed Forces are worthy of recognition every day,” Mayor Yadira Ramos Herbert said. “The Active Duty/Veterans Parking Permit program allows New Rochelle to honor their service and dedication everyday across our City.”
Eligible New Rochelle residents can apply in person at the City Clerk’s Office, 515 North Avenue, with proof of residency and military service. There is no fee for the permit, which must be renewed annually with updated proof of residency.
At least one designated Active Duty/Veteran parking space, marked with “Active Duty/Veterans Parking Only” signage, will be available at more than 20 municipal locations, including the New Rochelle Transit Center, New Roc Garage, Hudson Park and Marina Lot, City Hall Parking Lot and Five Islands Park Lot.
For more information, residents can visit NewRochelleNY.Gov/VeteransParking, call the City Clerk’s office at (914) 654-2159 or email cityclerk@newrochelleny.gov.
