NEW ROCHELLE, NY (August 24, 2026) — The owner of a Union Avenue sports bar was charged with gambling offenses after New Rochelle police seized four illegal slot machines during a search of the business, according to a police press release.
Gisselle Lopez, 35, of New Rochelle, was issued a desk appearance ticket returnable Sept. 1 and released pending further court action, police said.
Members of the New Rochelle Police Department Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at 142 Union Avenue, known as the Union Avenue Sports Bar, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, police said.
Investigators found a private room in the rear of the establishment containing illicit gambling activity and seized four video-style slot machines, according to police.
Lopez was charged with four counts of possession of a gambling device and one count of promoting gambling in the second degree, both misdemeanors, police said.
The business will be referred to the New York State Liquor Authority for multiple violations and license review, according to police.
