NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 8, 2026) — New Rochelle-raised stand-up comedian Mike Capozzola is returning to his hometown later this month for an evening of comedy with British comedian Mark Maier at Temple Israel of New Rochelle.
The two London-based comedians will each perform separate stand-up sets at “Wondering Jews” on Saturday, October 24, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Temple Israel, 1000 Pinebrook Boulevard. The event is presented by the synagogue’s Brotherhood and will be hosted by comedian Ethan Herschenfeld, whose credits include Netflix and iTunes.
Capozzola, an Italian-American Jewish comedian who now lives in the United Kingdom, has performed at comedy clubs, theaters, festivals, synagogues and Jewish community centers across the United States and internationally. His performances have taken him to 26 countries across Europe, the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
The late comedian Richard Lewis, known for his appearances on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” described Capozzola’s comedy as “Hilarious… Twisted!”
Maier, a British stand-up comedian, has received the titles “British Comedian of the Year” and “Jewish Performer of the Year” in the United Kingdom. He has performed internationally, including at London’s Wembley Arena during a Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration attended by approximately 3,000 people.
Maier was also the first British comedian to perform at San Francisco’s “Kung Pao Kosher Comedy” and debuted his solo show, “Jewvenile,” at the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End. He is a co-creator and producer of “Rabbi Santa’s Comedy Night,” a holiday comedy show at London’s Radlett Theatre.
The New Rochelle performance is part of a series of appearances by the comedians in New York this month, including a show in Hudson on October 25.
Tickets for the New Rochelle show are $18 in advance or $25 at the door. The performance is rated PG-13.
