Farmer’s Market Coupons Available to Qualifying Seniors

Seniors looking to stretch their food budgets this summer and fall may be entitled to discount Farmers Market Coupons. To be eligible, individuals must be 60 years of age or older AND have a monthly income at or below $1,603/single, $2,158/couple OR be currently receiving or eligible to receive SSI, Food Stamps, Public Assistance or Section 8 housing subsidy.

The check book-style coupons will be distributed while supplies last beginning Wednesday July 30 at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center, 94 Davis Avenue, New Rochelle from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. Proof of age and New Rochelle residency are required. Applicants must come in person to sign affidavit. One coupon per married couple.

The coupons are valid at the New Rochelle Farmer’s Market, located at Division Street & LeRoy Place at the Prospect Street Lot every Friday through summer and fall to November 21, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or sellout. The Farmer’s Market features a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and specialty foods.
