Can’t get to the library? The New Rochelle Public Library may be coming to you. A book mobile, supported by an $85,000 grant from the Westchester County Board of Legislators, took its inaugural runs this summer, and will now be coming to New Rochelle two times a month.

On Thursday, September 4 and Thursday,September 23, the book mobile will be stopping at the Bracey Apartments (Harrison Street near Main Street) from 12:30 – 1:45 pm; and the MacLeay Apartments (parking lot off Fifth Avenue) from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.

On September 4, the Bookmobile will be stopping at the Hartley Apartments (Horton Avenue and Brook Street) from 9:45 am – 11:15 am; and on September 23 at Christ United Methodist Church, (parking lot of 1200 North Avenue), from 9:45 am – 11:15 am.

On this library-on-wheels, librarians and clerks from the New Rochelle Public Library will be on hand to help visitors browse through a select collection of books and other materials, borrow items (which can be returned to the book mobile or any of the county’s libraries), sign up for library cards, gather pamphlets on county and area services, and search WLS cyber
databases and resources.
