New Rochelle School Board Slices Arts Funding in Half

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

The New Rochelle School Board, without any notification, acted unfairly and cut the Music & Art Department’s Budget from $120,000 to $60,000. That’s 50% People. This is pretty amazing while they still spend taxpayer’s hard earned money on $1000 diners and hiring unneccessary consultants.

I demand an audit of the New Rochelle City School District and everyone involved by an outside independant auditing firm. It’s about time the hard working people of this City finds out where all this money is going especially when programs that are proven to help children excel get cut!!! I want heads on a platter!!!

  1. Folkes in New Rochelle need
Folkes in New Rochelle need to band together and demand accountability. We pay outrageously high taxes to live here and the least we can expect is a decent education for the children of New Rochelle. Perhaps the Mayor and the School Board should take a cut in salary to pay for their $1000 dinners, and spare our children. They are the future of this country.

  2. HA! LOL! And the sad part
HA! LOL! And the sad part is that it is absolutely true – she did say that and even with witnesses. They still all think that 15 minutes is perfectly enough time for the children to buy and eat their lunches. They insist.

  3. That is equal to about 1/2
That is equal to about 1/2 of any of the genius administrators salaries (for example Dr Weiss makes about $160,000). When told about the 15 minute lunch at Trinity she famously said that in Medical School she ate standing up to save time.
Let’s use her salary to restore Arts funding. Maybe the students can draw medical students eating lunch standing up.
