On March 10th, New Rochelle City Councilman Richard St. Paul asks for an explanation of how the City requested stimulus funds from New York State. City Manager Chuck Strome and Mayor Noam Bramson answer. The full time line detailed in the video is provided below the fold.

ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE – NEW ROCHELLE TIMELINE
December 8, 2008 – In anticipation of the adoption of a stimulus package, City staff meet to develop list of potential projects.
December 29, 2008 – Staff submits memorandum with draft list of potential projects to City Council.
January 13, 2009 – Economic Stimulus Package is discussed as a discussion item at the City Council’s Committee of the Whole Session.
February 3, 2009 – City Officials from Westchester’s five Cities invited to meet with representatives of Governor Patterson’s staff relative to stimulus program. All Cities in attendance advised to develop a project “wish list” for submission to the Governor’s office. Cities are encouraged to make their list as broad as possible because the actual program had not been signed into law at this time and details on eligibility not yet finalized.
February 11, 2009 – In anticipation of submission of our initial wish list of projects, City staff submits document to City Council.
February 13, 2009 – List of projects submitted to Governor’s office as well as the City’s state and federal representative.
February 19, 2009 – Informational meeting held with municipal officials and Governor’s representatives. It is suggested that municipalities submit individual projects electronically by project as a follow-up to original submission.
February 23, 2009 – City submits individual projects electronically as recommended by State officials.
March 6, 2009 – City receives handbook from State for further processing of projects.
