OPEN THREAD – Bramson Delivers State of the City Address

Written By: Robert Cox

mayor of new rochelle state of the city by jot2147 on CBS EyeMobile

Noam Bramson delivered his State of the City message, saying the state of the City was strong and will be even stronger. Christine Pizzuti has a write up over at LoHud. According to Pizzuti, Bramson talked about the federal stimulus package, a partial hiring freeze, deferring capital expenditures, garbage pickup, a new hotel occupancy tax, LeCount Square, Garden Street corridor, and North Avenue corridor. The article does not mention Echo Bay Project, the Armory, Target or Kohl’s coming to New Roc City. Any other dogs not barking?

I’ve asked the City to provide a copy of the speech, audio or video. I suppose it will air on cable access at some point. For those who were there, please add more information about the speech in the comments section.

  1. In my opinion he state of
In my opinion he state of the city is not good.
We have a Mayor who went down the development road and failed…
Echo Bay is not possible with Forest City on Deaths Door.
New Roc- Target not expanding and certainly not expanding into a territory where they have 3 Stores already loosing money. Ice Rink Dark but we got a space shot and gokarts.
LeCount won’t happen with Cappelli’s money they will have to make it with some Super Give Away of Tax Incentives.
Its sad because Bramson sits there at the Podium not know how this happened. The Economy tanking was his answer and he is partly correct but the other half was his own stupidity. Did he cut his part time or full time salry? Nope he raise taxes. Nice!!!

    1. Ice rinks always make money
Ice rinks always make money in every city. Do we even have a hockey program in New Rochelle? Didn’t there used to be an ice rink in New Rochelle? I heard the whole situation was a bust, is that true?

  2. New Rochelle residents in
New Rochelle residents in Noam’s view should pay a higher utility tax and also support the businesses and restaurants in the city. Is the City a welfare state in the making? Why didn’t he say he would take a pay cut?

  3. In response to “The article

Noam is not dumb, he knows it would have been foolish to go down the development path especially when nothing is going on wit the developers.
