Join Us All- Because it Doesn’t End With May 19th

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

You’ve seen the comments and facts about how the board twists things. I’ve been advocating to get rid of the status quo(Polow AND Hastie) and no to the budget to allow proper/legal oversight of a system gone awry. There is nothing personal abouit this. To borrow from the Board itself, this IS about the children. Imagine if all the waste is gone and how much more we can contribute to the kids. May 19th is a hurdle to be sure, but it is just the first step in truly improving things both for the children and the families of this city. THAT is what this is all about. We stand ready to make the most significant change to policy to this system in 50 years and it is for the better. The president of the united states sees the need to rethink things and that can be applied here. Our president, indeed the nation, would be proud to see citizenry in action, taking responsibility for ourselves. Show the nation how a city took control of itself when things were down. There will be much work to be done after the budget is defeated. We will need everyones help to carry on the service that our children need and that comes in any way you can think of. They are OUR children, it is OUR school district and it is OUR city.
Show them you care, by joining us.
Vote NO on May 19th
Vote YES for Vince Malfitano
Vote FOR the children !
Polow must go-on the budget vote no

let me add my voice to the growing sentiment for vincent malfatano. He has the background, experience and I think the courage to lovingly, albeit not too gently, wave that big stick and hopefully get the attention of the sitting board. this is a man who will not stand fo pseudo “logic” like the lowest increase in years, excellence of results, etc.

We are a diverse community; many of us came to this city to move forward the dreams of our parents. We didn’t come here to apologize that we came from poor, hard working stock. We came to build — the elitists among us feel entitled; Vincent speaks much more honestly and openly about the true meaning of entitlement — all childen regardless of background and circumstance deserve our best. All parents, whether “elible” to vote or not, deserve our best.

You tend to mellow as you age — I remember some majestic words from my old catechism, “whatever you do to the least of us, you do unto me.” This is what I am getting from Vincent — not from board members who prosteltyze love of children whereas the fruits of their actions speak of love of power and position. I am proud to be a “southie” in New Rochelle and long to see the sons and daughters of our carpenters, landscapers, and yes, professionals; and the grandchildren of our retirees get the support and service they deserve. Organisiciak says we cannot be compared to districts like Scarsdale because of the “diversity” of our student body in New Rochelle. That, friends, is code for —– Vincent knows and I know. I taught as a sub here and stood in front of classrooms in other places and times. Let me tell you something you need to know — our young people, despite color, origin, even difficult economic and social circumstance are as capable and deserving as youngsters in Scarsdale and anywhere else. They will and have responded to proper leadership, curricula development and a community that demands the best for all of its youngsters. Hillary Clinton said it best “it takes a community to raise a child>” Our entrusted district and board needs radical overhaul and our city fathers need to wake up and critically think of substance over form. It also takes a quality and caring school district to support a city.

Cast that ballot for Vincent and against the budget.

    God Bless you all

  2. We did it before. Let’s vote
We did it before. Let’s vote NO tomorrow. Please take a few minutes to go to your polling place and vote NO!

  3. As for voting strategy
As for voting strategy tomorrow, if you want Vince Malfatano to win just vote for him alone. Do not feel compelled to vote for more tan one person unless you are already of the mind to go in there and vot for 2.

Voting for 2 candidates will dilute the votes and cancel a vote for Vince. If you want Vince to win jyst vote Vince alone.

    1. Mr. Malfatano is passionate
Mr. Malfatano is passionate about education and about representing not only the under-represented of this city but the ENTIRE city. I believe he is willing to walk the walk not just talk the talk. My child and his were classmates, that is why I’m confident that his caring and concern for his own children’s education will extend over to ALL of our children and their tax-paying parents.

    2. Excellent advice! Don’t feel
Excellent advice! Don’t feel you have to fill both positions just because there are 2 vacancies. Vote only for Vince Malfetano!
He is very well qualified and we need a change. Voting NO this time will not make the school system crumble overnight as the teachers and BOE would want you to believe. Everyone still has their jobs and so they still have to provide services and/or teach with or without a raise.
