* Memorial Day Observances 2009 *

 

 

The United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association of the City of New Rochelle  will observe Memorial Day as follows:

 

 

On Sunday, May 24, 2009, beginning with a brief ceremony at Beechwoods Cemetery

at 9:00 AM, the United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association will decorate graves of Veterans of all Wars at Holy Sepulchre and Beechwoods Cemeteries.  All are invited to participate.

 

 

On Monday, May 25, 2009, at 10:30 AM, after a brief ceremony at the Memorial Monument at Memorial Plaza,  (located at Memorial Highway, off Main Street, N. R.),  participants will assemble for the Annual Memorial Day Parade.  The Parade will then proceed onto Huguenot Street to North Ave., south on North Ave into Hudson Park, for a Water Ceremony honoring military personnel lost at Sea.

 

 

Festivities, Food, Music, and more to follow (by about 1:00 PM) at Hudson Park and the Hudson Park Bandshell.  There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, sliders, etc. for $1.00;  Sodas and Waters $1.00;  Beer $2.00.   Band Music at the Hudson Park Bandshell.  So COME ON DOWN!  Bring the family and join in the fun. Come early as parking is limited at Hudson Park.
