Bruce Danielle Head of Security to be Dismissed?

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

Bruce Danielle Director of Security is facing possible termination due to lack of BOE following proper procedure. The BOE was put on notice this week with a letter from the state informing them that Mr. Danielle was hired under improper procedures. Mr. Danielle was hired on December 1, 1997, with a salary of 103,940 by the end of 2007. More information including a copy of said letter from state to follow.
I guess not enough paper shredders were bought by the BOE.

  1. If you know so much?
    Tell me

    If you know so much?
    Tell me about Beverly Silverman?
Is she retired and rehired at her same position and if so Why?
Is she the only person qualified for this position?

Why does she allow certain people to take tests who are not qualified as per postings?
But she will turn others away stating the job is already filled before application date is over?

    1. get out
why is she not being looked at! So much power for one person. She is there to help and does nothing but whatever she chooses to do

  2. I dont think u
I think you only think want is good for u and noboby else you dont give people a change

  3. Danielle
When Bruce Danielle has a problem with a security member, he sends them to ALMS where Bill Evans the district hatchet man writes them up and then gets them fired. Why use 2 people to do one job?

  4. Bruce
Bruce is a nice guy. Nice does not mean that your money is well spent. He needs to go.

    1. Bruce if your reading this
Bruce if your reading this you need to take a look
at the people around you, that wants your job.
They could be the reason all of this is taken place.

  5. Bruce Danielle….
is a nice guy. Nice has nothing to do with this issue. My post, has nothing to do with his character, personality or even his job performance. It DOES have to do with accountabilty! The BOE’s accountabilty to follow proper procedure and to operate within the boundaries of the civil service law and any other applicable laws that govern them.
We will, however, talk about security issues another time soon.

  6. Bruce Daniele
Sorry but this time you got some wrong information. You should really stop listening to all those disgruntled employees of the Bd. of Ed. Alot of Security staff said that Bruce woould never be good enough to replace Joe Johnstone, but they have been proven wrong. Joe did a great job while it lasted and Bruce is doing a great job also. Cox and all you other people all need to get a life and find something else to do with your time! Keep up the good work Bruce !!!!

    1. As I said already…
I have always thought that Bruce Danieli was a good guy.

If it were to happen that Danieli was forced out due to a improperly processed 211 waiver — a bureaucratic error — that would be a real shame. Trinity already lost a good principal over another aspect of the 211 issue.

Maybe we need to take a look at the law or how it is applied. I believe that is Andrew Cuomo’s department.

      1. A real shame to loose Mr. McMahon.
Actually, it is a crying shame to loose him. I have been a Trinity parent for ten years and Mr. McMahon was the BEST principal we’ve ever had in my opinion.

I don’t know Mr. Danielle, but if he is allowed to stay, then Mr. McMahon should be allowed to stay also. Since Mr. McMahon has to go because of the same issue (211) then unfortunately, Mr. Danielle must go too.

      2. Triinity Principal
Trinity School is in for a great Loss when the wonderful Principal Mr. McMahon walks out that door.I have dealt with more than one Principal over my childrens school years, and nobody was ever more liked than this wonderful man.He always greeted you with a smile and always had time to listen to you no matter how busy his day might have been.A.Very greatloss for our children at Trinity School. This will be a big pair of shoes to fill when he leaves.Trinity will have a BIG Loss but another School will have a Very Great Gain.Good Luck Mr McMahon you will never be forgotten.New Rochelle made another mistake.

    2. Bruce Danielle
I worked with Bruce for 15 years coaching at Holy Family School and I can’t imagine anybody being better at dealing with the youth of New Rochelle. Becoming head security for the New Rochelle School system is a challenge that Bruce accepted and has given 150% to each day. Who better to head security
at NRHS than a ex-detective, D.A.R.E & youth officer who has influenced more kids in this city than any of us can imagine. Just ask Ray Rice how much of an influence Bruce was on him & countless others. In this generation with a lack of strong role models for our children it is refreshing to know that someone like Bruce is still out there, pointing our youth in the right direction & being a positive influence in their lives.

      1. He can keep the job
As a volunteer or working for a minimum stipend, he could probably keep the job. Would he be comitted without the 100,000/year + 2nd pension pay-in ? How come the board is suddenly evil now that they made a mistake with your friend? Their deceit and ineptitude has been well documented and this is all you seem to care. To quote the board this is just another “isolated incident” or “just suck it up”

  7. He was put into his position
He was put into his position as head of security in 2004.

  8. Sounds like this is not a DONE deal yet, right?
    This is about 211 waivers?

I always thought he was a pretty good guy but I had some concerns since Donna Henry reported up to him and her issues should have resulted in stronger action.

    1. Your first impression of
Your first impression of Bruce was the right one. He is a great guy, loved by his co-workers and subordinates a like; not to mention the respect the children have for him. Bruce is not only an honorable man, he has done a great job with what he has had to work with, heads and tails above his predessesor.
Donna Henry’s issues (displine) were addressed by the district through the union and had nothing to do with Bruce Daniele.
Bob, you are hard on the district for many things, sometimes fairly, sometimes not…but the dismissal of Mr. Daniele would be the biggest blow to the district yet and it should not be tolerated. Bruce is one of those people who cannot be replaced.

      1. stronger discipline
yes its true Bruce Daniele is a good guy but he needs to take stronger actions on his guards when the same ones continue to disobey procedure,i.e Donna Henry. She should have been let go a long time ago but instead she gets promoted to a job in city hall and than as a cleaner at the HS with the custodial staff I guess being she is a person of color, like the rest of the BOE they are all afraid to discipline. Has anybody looked into Stephanie Oliver’s daughter working with children as a general school aide but was never fingerprinted? How did that happen? Once again a person of color. Or Stephanie Oliver’s secretary who was arrested for smuggling drugs into prison while visiting her boyfriend? Once again another person of color. and why is everybody that works for the BOE related or so it seems? It’s people like this that give us, hard working, tax paying citizens a bad name so dont blame it on Bruce Daniele, blame it on the top from where the hiring is done

      2. what you see is not always what you get!
If Mr.Daniele was such a good person he would have come into the district the right way. There is no one that can’t be replaced. When making a statement you can only speak for yourself. Not for co-workers and subordinates because you real dont know what they think of Mr.Daniele.

      3. On Bruce
If that were the case, then get some BALLS and sign your name to your statement.

      1. 211 waivers platy a part?
As i read it, a waiver is required to allow someone to draw a pension while receiving a salary larger than allowed under pension requirements. Is he retired from the PD or school system? Is this whats called “double dipping”? At the taxpayers expense, condoned by the school board? Are the shredders “adjusting” Mr O’s approval notice that allowed this illegal activity?

      2. Bruce Danielle
Anyone who would support the ouster of Mr Danielle, either does not know him or has a hidden agenda. He is the best thing that has happened to NR security in some time. His ouster would make my decision to send my kids to Fordham Prep and Ursuline that much easier. No one gives the time and effort to the community as he does. There may be problems in NR school system but I can assure you Bruce is pat of the solution and not part of the problem.Do not take my word for it. Ask the hundreds of kids lives he has touched when he ran Holy Family CYO for over twenty years while donating his own time and money. This would be a big loss to the school system.

  9. Wow, New Rochelle is
Wow, New Rochelle is cleaning house. Thanks for keeping us updated.

    1. new rochelle may need to
new rochelle may need to clean house but getting rid of Danielle is not the answer. This is the same man who called countless parents at 11PM when he was a detective to ask parents if they knew their kids were hanging out at the park when the parents thought their kids were at a sleepover. You are crucifying one of the good guys. Mike Malpeli

      1. If anyone does not have the
If anyone does not have the guts to sign his or her name to a blog, that person is a coward and probably has more skeletons in their closet, including the skeletons in my closet. What do all you anonymous big mouths have to hide. I applaud you for bringing fraud and patronage to the forefront but get your facts right. Ask Linda Kelly how many people took the test on the up and up to get Bruces job. He left a great job to serve the school district. If the law allows him to collect a pension and start a new career then change the law. Do not tarnish the reputation of one of the finest people NR has.Mike Malpeli

      2. “signing” your name is meaningless
Unless a person REGISTERS and then logs in when they comment the person is anonymous. ANYONE can “sign” someone’s name below a comment.

In this case, we have no way of knowing that this comment was written by Mike Malpeli or that this is the same “Mike Malpeli” that “signed” their name to an earlier comment. The value of using a proper login to comment is primarily so that readers can know that the same registered user is commenting each time.

My view is that people should register and comment under their own name but at the very least people should be consistent in commenting under the same registered user name so that people can judge the body of their comments and posts not just an individual comment.

      3. I did register and my name
I did register and my name is Mike Malpeli. Can Deep Throat say the same.

      4. You may have registered but…
…you are not logging in when you are commenting.

      5. Mr. Malpeli just say you’re playing favoritism
I would like to know if I am understanding your position correctly. Would you have prefered if I never would have shared the fact that the BOE received this letter from the state? If the person named was not Danielle and in fact a John Doe that you didnt know, can I assume your fingers would never have touched your keyboard?? You know I am right..and that makes you a hypocrite.

      6. I may be a hypocrite but the
I may be a hypocrite but the last time I checked this was America and we are entitled to free speech without having to hide behind the catch all WORD ANONYMOUS. AND YES MR COX I DO TRY AND REGISTER AND LOG IN. fOR SOME REASON MY LOGIN DOES NOT REGISTER, PERHAPS YOU COULD GUIDE ME THRU THIS PROCESS. IF i HAD TO HIDE BEHIND THE CLOAK OF ANONYMITY I WOULD JUST KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT RATHER THAN ATTACK PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO RECOURSE TO FIGHT BACK BECAUSE THEIR ACCUSERS REFUSE TO STAND UP AND STATE THEIR FACTS MAN TO MAN. ANONYMOUSLY, MIKE MALPELI. AND YES BRUCE DANIELLE IS A FRIEND OF MINE AND I WOULD SIGN MY NAME IF THIS REFERRED TO A PERSON THAT I DID NOT KNOW. IF DEEP THROAT HAD ANY BALLS HE WOULD COME FORWARD AND HAVE A DIALOGUE AND MAYBE HE IS RIGHT. THE FACT THAT HE WILL NOT EVEN PUT HIS NAME TO SOMETHING RUINS HIS CREDIBILITY IN MY EYES. MIKE MALPELI

      7. We know who deepthroat is…
He and this site are being dealt with as we speak. Once and for all!!!

      8. Who am I, what am I , WHERE am I?
Should i put the coffee on, or would an ice cold beer be better?
I am here….or maybe I am there…maybe I’m working right next to you. In any event, I would love to entertain you when you come.

      9. If you know so much

        If you know so much
Tell me about Beverly Silverman ?
Is she retired and back in her same position and if so WHY?
How does she allow certain people to take tests or apply, who are not qualified!

She will turn other people away telling them , that they cannot get the position because it is already going to be filled by someone else! I don’t think that this is her job she is there to take the application.

      10. still did not answer
        still did not answer question
how do people take tests and by posting they are not qualified to do so! But yet she gives others a hard time.

      13. Dolt squad on rampage ? Ha Ha Ha Ha !
I thought deepthroat was a woman. You guys can’t get anything straight. Be careful dolters , whenever you try to “deal” with something , you shoot yourself in the foot . I’m surprised you have any toes left .

      14. Awww Mr. Malpeli..
What kind of music would you like playing while you dance around the subject. You still havent answered one question I asked. Face to face conversation did not matter to you until your feathers got twisted with my last post. Well at least you admitted to being a hypocrite..the first step is admitting..I am proud of you…now go sell some ice cream..buy one for Bruce…ON ME….
        signed Mark Twain..happy now?

      15. Isn’t the police commissh a
Isn’t the police commissh a double dipper? He retired from the NYPD, now gets 150g’s or so from new ro.
How about the fire commish? He’s past retirement age, but still working, how’s that?

      16. Check your cookies, Mike
My contact information is on this site. I hate to troubleshoot your login issues in the comments section but…

When you registered you were sent an email with your password so you should have a User ID and a Password, right?

If that’s the case and you are still having trouble it might be a browser issue.

Some services like AOL and Earthlink might default to your “cookies” being disabled or otherwise doing something to your browser that causes a problem. You can try to fix that or simply try logging in using a different browser and see if that helps. If that still does not work try logging in on a different machine at a different location.

This usually solves the problem. If not, let me know.

PS, we have a policy of no ALL CAPS here. It is considered shouting. Once we get you cleared up with the login issue I will remove this comment with the caps.

      17. I did register and my name
I did register and my name is Mike Malpeli…yes deepthroat can say the same

      18. Did you ever think that
Did you ever think that people NEED their jobs and thats why they dont sign their names???

      19. Being a nice guy means squat!
        Mr. Malpeli (?)
No one is trying to tarnish anyones reputation. Anon people and people like yourself are not READING what my original post is about! Let’s sum this up by saying this..if Bruce is as perfect as you and others say he is, AND the BOE is as perfect as the trolls make them out to be, then they will satisfy what the state is looking for and comply. There is NO argument that can stand ground for non compliance.
Now, if you go back and read each rebuttal to my original post, no one speaks on the issue at hand. Who cares if Bruce is a nice guy? Are you trying to say we should close our eyes to procedure because the same rules don’t apply to nice guys??? Totaly ridiculous

      20. again people who do not sign
again people who do not sign their names are not cowards. They just can’t afford to lose their jobs by getting fired for putting their names to the comment! Duh!

      21. Why didn’t Mark Twain just use his real name; Samuel Clemens?
Alexander Hamilton chose ‘Publius’ as the pseudonym for ‘The Federalist Papers’, even though he, James Madison and John Jay wrote most of the articles. Thomas Paine remained anonymous for the first printings of ‘Common Sense’ (that short pamphlet solidified the idea of independence from the King of England for the colonists). There are too many examples to list here, but the word ‘anonymous’ is certainly not synonymous with the word ‘coward’.

        From Wikipedia:
Twain used different pen names before deciding on “Mark Twain”. He signed humorous and imaginative sketches “Josh” until 1863. Additionally, he used the pen name “Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass” for a series of humorous letters.

      22. “suck it up Mike, it’s just an isolated incident”
Hi, I’m one of your skeletons. Please don’t call people names or try to discredit them based on your perceived judgment on their motivation. If the stories are as true as reported, there will and should be consequences. Pointing out improprieties in the BoE helps all of us, from the kids to the seniors. If Bruce has to go, blame your holy board not the folks who uncovered the debacle. Bruce may be the political fallout of a system who has done nothing but “wag it” in the faces of the citizens of NR. Don’t kill the messenger (whoever they are). I’m going back into the closet now, good bye Mike.

      23. That’s right, citijo…
…it’s not the messenger’s fault. Did Paul Revere get blamed for delivering his warning message?
