  1. Amazing Stuff !
It’s a shame we would choose to sterilize the history of New Rochelle to further a political agenda . You might thing that this is an outlandish comment , but you only need to look at the process used to see that none of these buildings was considered for their true value when the decisions were made to destroy them , and ultimately , the history of these sites . The mayor , in his excitement of moving his own career , basically asked the developers , “what do YOU want to do ” , instead of stating a coherent request that incorporates the history into the plans . Just look at the Request for Proposals (RFP). Vaguely written and purposely ambiguous , they leave the whole scope of the project up th interpretation by the developers . They are supposed to leave SOME room for interpretation , however , they are also supposed to frame certain requirements of a plan . If the post office , or Armory were required to be re-adapted in the RFP , the developers would have incorporated them . We might not like the results , but it would give us a view of what could be, without the overshadowing of someones political agenda . Remember , this administration has no “big ticket” project that is theirs to claim . There have been many smaller success’s , but they don’t fill the skyline for all to see . Improve the quality of life and siccess will follow , on it’s own , without selling our history down the river .

  2. Thank you!
