I also have a 1995 Volvo 960 Sportswagon with getting close to 200,000 miles on it that I may just donate. Physically, the car is in OK shape for a 14 year old car but I put in a rebuilt Volvo engine and one of the cylinders has blown. Also, the muffler is shot and need to be replaced. The brakes also need to be replaced. The car starts and runs but the exhaust is smoky, the car is loud, it has poor acceleration and stops poorly (all for the reasons noted above). The tires are relatively new and may be worth more than the car! I would be happy to sell it for $300 to someone who wants to replace the engine, put in new brakes and a muffler. If the problems listed above are fixed the car is worth a lot more than that but a rebuilt engine is probably $1,400, brakes and the muffle another $300 or to have this card road-ready you are looking at $2,000 (more if you need someone to do all the work for you) all-in for a 1995 Volvo which is actually still a pretty good deal because with a good engine these cars will run for a very long time.
