Dear Neighbor,
In an effort to ensure the Hudson Valley is fairly represented in all legislative matters before the Senate, I and eight other local Senators representing Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester Counties have formed the Hudson Valley Delegation – a bipartisan coalition to more effectively advocate for the needs and concerns of the residents, communities, organizations, and elected officials of the Hudson Valley.
The Governor recently presented the State Legislature with his proposed Executive Budget for the coming year (SFY 2010-11). The Hudson Valley Delegation is holding two hearings to examine the impact of this proposed budget on our District and on the Hudson Valley region as a whole. Given the tough fiscal and economic times our State continues to face, your input on the key matters impacting our region is more vital than ever. I would like to invite you to attend these hearings to voice your priorities, comments, and concerns on the issues of greatest importance to you in this year’s budget process.
Our first hearing will be held in Pomona on Friday, March 5th. It will address concerns related to Health and Mental Health; Transportation; Economic Development; and Environmental Conservation. The second hearing will be held in Bronxville on Friday, March 12th, and will address Education; Labor and Family Assistance; Public Protection; and General Government. Full details for each hearing, including RSVP, contact, and location information, can be found in the enclosed Public Hearing Notice and Reply Form.
I strongly encourage you to attend these hearings to make your voice heard and ensure we protect and preserve what is most important to the Hudson Valley. In the event that you are unable to attend, I encourage you to send a representative or to submit written testimony to be entered into our records.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey D. Klein

The Hudson Valley Delegation of the New York State Senate
In an effort to ensure the Hudson Valley is fairly represented in all legislative matters before the Senate, nine local Senators representing the counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester have formed a bipartisan delegation to more effectively advocate for the needs and concerns of their constituents. Earlier this year, the Delegation addressed Hudson Valley’s public transportation grievances with new MTA Chairman Jay Walder. The Senators of the Hudson Valley Delegation will next hold two public hearings to assess the priorities and impacts of the SFY 2010-2011 budget, to give a voice to the needs and concerns of the residents, communities, organizations, and elected officials of the Hudson Valley.
