WABC 7 Pulls Plug on Cablevision: No Oscars for Some New Rochelle Residents

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

WABC Channel 7 has turned there channel off to Cablevision in Westchester and across the state. As of 12:00am Sunday morning. That means no oscars for many viewers tonight. It’s all over money that ABC says it should be getting from Cablevision for airing channel 7. With the Oscar’s airing later this evening, movie fans are scrambling to make back up plans in case ABC is unavailable in their homes. Are you a Cablevision customer? What do you think about the dispute? Are you worried about missing the Oscars? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Cancel your subscription, you’ll never regret it!
The Dolans and their thieving Cablevision organization heve been fleecing customers at every chance they get. The last straw for me was when they insisted on making the YES network an additional charge. I would have to pay to see the Yankees, yet friends in Connecticut, Rockland, North Carolina or ANYWHERE that had a different carrier than Cablevision received free YES network. I dropped Cablevision and never looked back. You’ll never miss the substandard service, believe me.

    1. I’m lost on this one.
Pardon the “Lost” pun re: ABC –

But, can the other providers be any less of a conglomeration of nonsense?

I hate Cablevision just as much as anybody, but will switching to FIOS or something else really make that much of a difference.

Damned if you do damned if you don’t scenario…
