City of New Rochelle Heat Advisory Message to All Residents

New Rochelle Heat Advisory Message:

This is Mayor Noam Bramson. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for our region. All residents, particularly seniors and those with health challenges, should stay out of the sun, drink plenty of fluids, and remain in an air conditioned area when possible. For those without air conditioning, the City has established a cooling center at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center at 94 Davis Avenue. It is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm today and tomorrow.

To help avoid power outages, please take common sense steps to reduce your energy use. Be sure your air conditioning filters are clean, close off unused rooms in your home, operate appliances in the early morning or evening when temperatures are lower, and keep your thermostat at 78 degrees or higher. For more information, visit coned.com.

Finally, please take a moment to check in on neighbors who may need help. Thanks for listening and stay cool.
