  1. Fireworks funding
    I read in the Journal News that the funding for this years fireworks came from the state. The article says –

    According to the state Division of Housing and Community Renewal’s member-item program, current legislation allows organizations to use their grant money to fund various types of projects, from construction to professional consultation, payment of salaries to community improvement. Recent grants publicized by state Sen. Jeff Klein, D-Bronx, approved prior to April 1, include $115,000 for new truck-repair equipment and a dormitory at the Eastchester Fire Department and $40,000 for New Rochelle’s Fourth of July fireworks.
