The body of what is believed to be Eoin Curran, a 30-year old Irish national — missing and presumed drowned for six days — was recovered this afternoon by the New Rochelle Police Harbor Unit after the body was spotted in the waters off New Rochelle. Curran’s family will attempt to make identification of the body, said Charlew Rowe, public affairs office for the the U.S Cost Guard.
UPDATE: The body was found 10 miles south of Mamaroneck, in the vicinity of Huckleberry Island, less than a mile east of David’s Island, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Other sources told Talk of the Sound the body was reported to be caught on a reef and observed by boaters in the area who called authorities at around 1 PM on Saturday.

Talk of the Sound was the only news outlet on the scene this afternoon when New Rochelle Police brought in the body of the after falling off a sailboat during a brief but violent storm last Sunday, July 25th.

As for your opinion, you must live a very sheltered life if you find it unusual that a news outlet would run photos or videos from a crime scene. The images on Talk of the Sound are standard for a report of this kind; which is the same reason Channel 12 News is running out video and I expect other news outlets will run the images.
