Fred Smith Fired Again, Former New Rochelle Asst. Superintendent Lied About UVA Doctorate

Written By: Robert Cox

Like a bad penny, Fred Smith, former Assistant Superintendent of New Rochelle Schools, turned up in Troy, NY last month claiming to have a letter from the University of Virginia exonerating him following a plagiarism investigation into his doctoral thesis. Smith claimed to read the letter over the telephone during a job interview but never produced the letter. The university recently confirmed that Smith’s doctorate had been revoked.

The Troy school district hired Smith to a $400 an houra day position as interim director of pupil personnel services. When the district learned Smith’s Doctorate had been revoked, they let him go.

  1. Troy NY is Broke and in decay
$400.00 an hour for director of pupil services? Something is wrong all across the country. Guess which party runs Troy NY?

    1. my bad…$400 a day not hour
      Tom,

I have edited the post to reflect my error.

$400 an hour or $400 a day, Fred Smith is worth zero as an educator.

Someone in New Rochelle should be going through all his expense reports right about now.
