Maisano-Pataki.pngFormer New York State Governor George Pataki has endorsed County Legislator Jim Maisano for New York State Supreme Court Justice, 9th Judicial District, citing Maisano’s legal and legislative experience, proven leadership ability and sensible judicial philosophy (photo attached).

“I’m pleased to endorse Jim Maisano for the Supreme Court. As a Marine, attorney, and legislator, Jim has served our country and our state with thoughtful and effective leadership.” Governor Pataki continued, “Jim is exactly the kind of justice we need – qualified, independent and experienced in dealing with complex issues. He will be led by a judicial philosophy that understands the proper role of the courts and the principles set forth in the law and our Constitution. I encourage everyone to vote for Jim Maisano on Election Day.”

Maisano welcomed Governor Pataki’s support and thanked him for his encouraging words: “I’d like to thank Governor Pataki for this important endorsement. This is a wonderful vote of confidence and a big boost to the campaign. I have always had great respect for Governor Pataki’s public service. He is still working on issues to this very day to improve our state and country. I will be an independent, fair and impartial justice and one that Governor Pataki will be proud to see on the bench. Governor Pataki has nominated many judges, and I’m honored that he believes I would be a positive addition to the Supreme Court.”

Maisano is currently serving as the Minority Leader of the Westchester County Board of Legislators and the legislator representing New Rochelle and Pelham. Maisano’s public career started with service in the United States Marine Corps, from which he was honorably discharged as a sergeant and received a number of awards and commendations. He went on to earn his law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, practiced law in New Rochelle and New York City for the past 18 years, and is a member of many professional and civic organizations. 1. Pataki-Maisano
You want to know what is sad ? There are more Maisano signs in New Rochelle, than any other location in the 9th JD. He has support in New Ro, Yes, you may want to waste signs up north.

  2. For New Ro
The Colety GOP…Yes it rhymes, but that’s not the pattern. It seems GOP tradition is to recruit disgruntled democrats, who feel some sort of entitlement, to run against true Democrats. GOP Chairman Colety has already endorsed Ms. Cynthia Lobo for New Rochelle City Court Judge, after she spent 4months lobbying for the Democratic nod and failed to receive it. Yes, we have Lobo on the record supporting Obama issues but that’s not important here. Also equally important, but not material here, is the nasty racists tactics employed by Sen. Pedro Espada’s confidant, Richard St. Paul.
The kicker here is, the GOP is running a Nazi racists against Rep. Lowey! Listen GOP, no matter how much you disagree with Rep. Lowey, you should not support a NAZI, twice over.

    1. Why this post – you don’t even mention Jim
Whoever you are – it is unclear why your political agenda driven post is attached to a very positive press release about County Leg. Jim Maisano being endorsed by Gov. Pataki. We are running a positive campaign here. Jim’s record on civil rights issues as a county legislator is excellent – look it up. Nothing in your post has anything to do with Jim’s campaign, so please make your partisan driven posts in other places.

      1. Why did I not mention Jim ?
Why did I not mention Jim ? Mr. Maisano is running on the same line as Cynthia Lobo, who was a New Rochelle Democratic District leader, Yes GOP an Obama supporter is running with Jim (lobo) that was sad because she was not going to get the Democratic nod, so she thought she could use the Republican line to get on the ballot. Also, Jim Russell, a Neo Nazi, was looking for a line that would take him…Yes, the GOP did. I think Mr. Maisano is much better than that, but why has he aligned himself with people who just use the republican party to spread their agendas ? Yes, democrats and republicans are supporting Mr. Maisano, but why is he not distancing himself from violators of his own party ? Has it gotten that bad ? He is the only one who has stuck with his values, yet he is running with a Liberal and a Nazi ! Sorry, but that bothers me 🙂

      2. No use of “all caps”
        Care4NewRo,

You are welcome to post and comment here but we have a rule against the use of all caps. It is considered shouting and thus rude. I’ve edited your user name and this post above.

        Thanks.
