Again – Equity & Fairness in our middle schools

IEYMS Web page
Two weeks ago, I received three calls from IEYMS parents who ventured into the nred.org site looking to find IEYMS’ web page. When they found it, they noticed it had little to no information. One parent, out of curiosity, went to the Albert Leonard Middle School site and noticed a slew of up to date and useful information on current after-school activities, teacher’s schedule of when students could seek help and much more. I then sent a note to Mr. Bongo and the Board members encouraging them to update the IEYMS web page. I figure they must have this information already and someone could easily populate the site. Mr. Bongo responded to me the next day indicating that he would look into it. Another day passed, I wrote the Board of Ed and suggested they get on this since little things become big things. No response. I guess I have no influence anymore. A week later, the site remains empty, yet ALMS continues to update their site with vivid colors and much appreciated information for students and parents.
So if you go to the IEYMS school site you will notice the following:
• Parent Support site is empty of any information and was created in January 13, 2009;
• Pupil Services is also empty of any information as it has been since January 13, 2009;
• The Co-Curricular Activities site has no information for this year and has last year’s information, which was also entered late in the year;
• In the Our Blogs site, there is last year’s summer reading list and one blog link to Mr. Primo’s Social Studies 7th grade class, last updated in April 2010;
• Under Middle School Science, there is only the Exam Schedule for May & June 2010.
As we complete the 1st marking period, our children and parents are relegated to little or no information on its web page. Is this any indication of the mood, morale, innovation, and chutzpah of the teachers and staff at IEYMS. What kind of leadership allows this type of information to wallow? Again equity and fairness. Look at the ALMS and IEYMS web sites. Maybe it will change by the time this note is read on TOS. Maybe not!
Oh, by the way, you can order your new 2008 year book while you’re looking.

    Funny thing Mr. Sanchez that you should talk about ordering yearbooks. I am still waiting for a 2009 yearbook…you know, the one you kept telling me you were working on getting for me and on the last day of school told me not to worry that I would either get the yearbook or my money back. Well a few follow up emails later and i still sit without either one. I would very much appreciate you taking care of this for me.

  3. Sanchez, is it true your kid goes to school in Scarsdale now?
    For someone who comes up with this cockamamie bulldonkey about no equality in the most diverse district in north america, I’m interested to see how u enjoy the scarsdale district. You’re so full of bologna and garbage. You are quite possibly one of the worst people who has ever served in public office in this city. The city has voted and everyone would like you to leave please. Move to Port Chester… POR FAVOR!!

    1. Disclosure
      The candidates report and I have a disclosure block on the home page (right) and I disclosed on air at WVOX.

      Do you really think this is how you help elect Democrats? Sad.

    Pathetic is the first word I can come up with.

    The second is fire. As in the principal should be fired.
