These services are now being provided by New York Radiology Alliance of Bedford Hills, NY. This highly-regarded local company is supported by Virtual Radiologic – a well-respected, national network that provides imaging services to over 1,300 hospitals.
Sound Shore Medical Center is committed to providing our physicians and their patients with leading-edge technology, supported by experts in their field. This partnership doubles Sound Shore Medical Center’s radiologic presence and provides imaging services 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year. In addition, it translates into around-the-clock access to a network of subspecialty-trained radiologists. This means radiologists with additional training in orthopedics will read and interpret those images – radiologists with cardiac training concentrate on those. This provides a depth of expertise specific to the patient’s need. Now SSMC’s physicians can consult with radiologists whenever the need arises – 24 hours a day. Sound Shore Medical Center’s expanded radiology services provide readings and consultation when they are needed most – day or night!
Next generation technology, including SSMC’s Picture Archiving and Communication System (a safe system for transmitting high-quality images via the internet) and advances in voice recognition, coupled with rapid turnaround and expert reporting have expanded Sound Shore Medical Center imaging capabilities for the doctor and the patient.
