Want to ask County Executive Robert P. Astorino a question about his proposed 2011 budget? It’s just a phone call away. Astorino will host a live telephone town hall meeting Wednesday from 7 -8 p.m.
To ask a question, or just listen in, residents are invited to call toll-free (888) 886-6603 and enter event ID 16011, beginning at 7 p.m.
A link to the audio event will be supplied on this page for those who prefer to listen online. Please log on between 6:45- 7 p.m. to avoid excess Web traffic at the beginning of the call.
You may join in the call to listen at anytime; you’re not required to start at 7 p.m.
“I know there is a lot of interest from the public in my budget, as people have been e-mailing and calling me directly and attending public hearings,” said Astorino. “This is another way for me to explain the facts behind the budget, listen to concerns and answer questions.”

In November, Astorino released his proposed spending plan for next year. It cuts spending by $33 million and lowers the county property tax levy by 1 percent, while maintaining essential services and protecting the needy.
The proposal is currently before the Board of Legislators, which has until Dec. 27 to adopt a final spending plan. The board will host its last public hearing Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Westchester County Center, White Plains.
