The City of New Rochelle began removing snow from the downtown sidewalks Tuesday night and Wednesday.

As of 5:00 am Thursday morning all snow was removed from the sidewalks from Pintard to Lecount Place on Main Street and on North Avenue.

From Main Street to Huguenot Street, the city used 5 private dump trucks, 2 front end loaders, a small bobcat, a sand truck and 5 men shoveling the snow. By doing this the city freed up all the parking on Main Street. Shoppers will no longer have to climb over piles of snow to get to the stores. The snow was hauled to the D’Onofrio Field parking lot.
