Written By: Robert Cox

City of New Rochelle’s City Manager Chuck Strome abruptly exited the City Council conference room during tonight’s City Council Committee of the Whole Meeting. Soon after, Mayor Noam Bramson requested a 5 minute recess as several Council Members quickly left the room to inquire as to Strome’s health. Upon returning from the recess, Bramson announced that Strome had medical problems related to a kidney stone although one city official was overheard describing the problem as a gallbladder problem. In either case, Strome did not return to the meeting and Omar Small, Assistant to the City Manager took his place for the rest of the Committee of the Whole Meeting.

  2. To Robert Cox
You are New Rochelle’s eyes and ears! You have done a wonderful job of reporting on events that a lot of people do not dare to do! Please keep this up and don’t let anyone try to back you down or use intimidating tactics so you won’t report the truth. When people do wrong and the truth comes out they become scared, weak and try to use bullying tactics. Honesty is our strength Robert Cox and the honest person will prevail! I hope you widen your website and report about other cities, towns and villages throughout Westchester. I have a question that I would like you to look into and answer. How come Westchester County does not have an Inspector General’s office for all the cities, towns, and villages? For all of you that are reading this and do not know what an Inspector General does, this is the office that provides oversite on all municipalities and roots out fraud and corruption. The City of NY has it, which they call New York City Department of Investigations. The State of NY has it for all its public agencies, and the federal government has Inspector General offices as well. So why can’t Westchester County create an office like this? Is it because the corruption and fraud might stop and actual good may come of it?

    1. Enough rotten here in New Rochelle
There is enough corruption and general rot in our twin governments in New Rochelle that I cannot envision spending time elsewhere. I would, however, by supportive of similar efforts elsewhere in the area.
