Habitat for Humanity of Westchester County held their 13th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Buildathon. In New Rochelle, Habitat worked at 12 Locust in partnership with Bible Way Church and Union Baptist church.

Sister Mary Cornelia Lastocy, OP, of the Dominican Sisters of Hope in Newburgh, died January 15, 2011 at The Wartburg, Mt. Vernon, NY. She was 99 years of age. Sr. Mary Cornelia taught at the Holy Family School in New Rochelle from 1963 to 1961.

SeanArmand.jpgIona College freshman guard Sean Armand has been named MAAC Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Gaels’ wins at Rider and vs. Marist last week. Armand averaged a team-best 19.5 points in the two contests.
