Don’t Miss the Dumbest Marketer Ever, Andrea Hoffman Appearing Tomorrow at Monroe College

Back on December 12th, a woman named Andrea Hoffman tweeted about a planned appearance at Monroe College to promote her book Black is the New Green, Marketing to Affluent African Americans. Noticing the tweet, I contacted her offering to promote her event.

you tweeted that you were coming to speak in New Rochelle.

Please send details and we will promote it.

She replied.

Thanks for the note. Myself and my co-author will be speaking about our book. Here is the website.

There were no details about the event on the web site she sent. After poking around, I gave up and wrote her again.

I never heard from her again but I did see a press release at AOL Patch over the weekend:

Seeing this, I wrote her again today.

Andrea,

I am going to have seriously question your marketing saavy.

You sent a press release to the least read media outlet in the area and ignored the most read even after I found you on my own and then exchanged several emails expressing my interest.
