New Rochelle Before and After: Huguenot Street 1914

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

1924 postcardThis is a Postcard from 1914…showing Huguenot Street looking East or North toward Larchmont…the Fanelli Brothers Barbers were located at 256 Huguenot Street.  In the current photo taken in 2004 there is no Trump Building and the Barber Shop would be somewhere in the Avelon complex.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Bridget has done such a great job with these before and after postcards and photos of New Rochelle that we wanted to promote one to the front tab on the home page and encourage readers to look at some of the others. They are all being tagged as “local history” which you can access by clicking on the SECTIONS/NEWS/LOCAL HISTORY tab above.

You can also read all entries in Bridget’s blog to see the previous before and after posts. If you are an RSS users, you can subscribe to all Bridge posts via RSS.

BTW, this is true for all blogs on the site if there is one particular contributor you wish to follow.
