The shoot is to promote the 2011 ESPY Awards. Nominees will be officially announced next month. The 19th annual ESPY Awards ceremony will air live on ESPN from Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 9 p.m. ET. An ESPY Award, short for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award. It is an accolade presented by ESPN to recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony. The first ESPYs were awarded in 1993. The ESPYs are hosted by a contemporary celebrity; the style, though, is more relaxed, light, and self-referential than that of many other awards shows like the Grammys and Oscares, with comedic sketches usually included.

Also on hand for the shoot today at Salesian is John Wall of the NBA’s Washington Wizards, B.J. Raji of the Green Bay Packers, Kevin Love of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves. Scheduled but not available today was the New York Yankees First Baseman Mark Texiera. Saturday Night Live Weekend Anchor Seth Meyers who will host the annual summer event was also on hand.
