St. Anthony’s Feast and Bazaar at Saint Joseph’s Church

St. Anthony’s Feast and Bazaar today 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Sunday at St. Joseph’s Church located at 280 Washington Avenue. At 4 pm there is a mass followed by a procession at 5 pm. The feast features carnival games, raffles, face painting, live musical performance and delicious food. The speciality is sausage and peppers but other food includes cheesesteak sandwiches, meatball wedges, hamburgers, hot dogs and treats like chocolate covered bananas and zeppole. Admission is free.

New Rochelle Firefighters 9th Annual Soap Box Derby

This is the 9th annual Soap Box Derby where two winners will qualify for the World Championships in Akron, OH. The first race will kick-off at 9 am. The race course runs from the top of Quaker Ridge Road near the Ward Elementary School and ends towards the bottom near the overpass at Pinebrook Boulevard. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers and cold drinks. The finals are expected to be run between 2 and 4 pm. The event is organized each year by the members of the New Rochelle United Fire Firefights Association Local 2773. Admission is free.

Israeli Scouts Friendship Caravan at Beth El Synagogue Center

Direct from Israel, the Israeli Scouts Friendship Caravan will perform a high-energy song and dance routine at the Beth El Synagogue Center. The Scouts, or Tzofim, are cultural ambassadors who energize their audience with the spice and spirit of Israel. These teens will perform at 6:15 p.m., following a barbecue at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 per person or $72 per family. The first 50 kids who register will get a free Maccabi Tel Aviv t-shirt.
