As always there are lots of events happening this father’s day weekend in New Rochelle –
First up – the Bethesda Baptist Church is opening their doors on Saturday at 8:30 for a pre-father’s day breakfast. Bring your family, friends and neighbors for a delicious breakfast treat and help celebrate dad with a community tone.
Then head over to the New Rochelle Public Library where expert needlewomen Charlotte Kastenbaum and Rosalie Hollingsworth will host a free workshop. Bring in a current project or get started on a new one for free at the library,
Later in the day, Lincoln Park plays host to the New Rochelle NAACP Youth Empowerment Rally. Refreshments, music, poets, guest speakers and a basketball tournament round out this great event that starts at noon.
Then, at 3 pm, head back to the NRPL and bring the kids for the library’s Funtastic Read-A-Thon
As we all know, Sunday is Father’s Day and what better way to help celebrate than by heading down to Wildcliff Manor for the cool sounds of award winning jazz pianist Helen Sung. Check out her quartet on the grassy knoll at 4 pm.
Head back to the library on Wednesday for Gamer’s Garrison. Teen Service librarian Ken Petrilli will oversee a fun afternoon of cards, RPGs and video games! That from 4 pm to 6 pm.
As always, Brickyard Bistro wants to hear your epic singing talents on stage at Thursday night karaoke.
And the NR farmer’s market is already underway. Every Friday through November, fresh fruits, veggies, baked goods and so much more on sale next to the library green.
