New York State Fines 22 Nursing Homes Including Sutton Park Center in New Rochelle

The Long Term Care Community Coalition is reporting that New York State fined 22 nursing homes in the 2nd Quarter of 2011 (3/18/11 – 6/30/11) including the Sutton Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in New Rochelle, NY.

Sutton Park Center was fined $4,000 for an incident on June 18, 2009 and $10,00 for an incident on January 19, 2010. Information is based on a report by the New York State Department of Health.

Under state law nursing homes can be fined up to $2,000 per deficiency. These fines may be increased to $5,000 if the same violation is repeated within twelve months and the violations were a serious threat to health and safety. These fines may also be increased up to $10,000 if the violation directly results in serious physical harm
