David’s Island: More ridiculous ideas from Bramson

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

OK, I know everyone’s hopped up on the shootings downtown today, but let’s not overlook Mayor Bramson’s most recent proposals for David’s Island. According to the Journal News, Bramson is again pushing Windmills and Solar Panels on this very valuable piece of property, enough to power 2000 homes they say. Who comes up with these crazy ideas? Maybe Bramson thinks this is enough power that we can now safely take Indian Point offline? I really don’t know why anyone would think these are good ideas.

All I can think is we just wasted another $20k, $30k, $40k, $50k or whatever the report cost. When will the madness end? I guess when someone at city hall gets smart enough to start storing our road salt in a covered area so that it doesn’t wash away in the ran as it does now, to the tune of thousands of dollars every year. New Rochelle’s too used to wasting money why stop now?

Perhaps the city needs to allocate a couple more thousands for another study or 2 & we’ll get the right answer, but as it stands now we shouldn’t let Bramson anywhere near the decision making for this. Another disaster waiting to happen.

It’s rather unfortunate that Bramson decided to have the Army Corp. of Engineers tear down all of the historic buildings when they cleaned up the island a few years ago, that’s the shame of it all.

Anyone have any other thoughts?

  1. Here’s a thought:
    Nita’s been

    Here’s a thought:

Nita’s been tottering along in the 18th’s Congressional seat since the 1980’s

Noam’s been writing her stuff for years, sitting behind her big desk and putting his feet up when she’s out of town in D.C., dreaming of the day he swears the oath as your next Congressman (once he’s been officially anointed by her of course) and hopefully, before she presses that “I’ve-fallen-and-I-can’t-get-get-up” button she wears on a chain around her neck.

You think he’s going to be elected to anything, anywhere, without a portfolio of New Rochelle success stories, ala solar panels up the ying-yang on Davids Island, if necessary?

    Think again.

  2. Questionable Ethics –
It’s been mentioned on here before but there couldn’t possibly be a more straightforward affront to the democratic process than this mayoral pom-pom’s subsidization of coucilmember’s campaigns.

This guy is a disgrace. I am ashamed that he [ceremonially] represents my hometown.
