Journal News printed Letter Re: St. Paul for Mayor

How convenient. The Journal News on October 22 published another damaging article about Richard St. Paul This one stated the New Rochelle Republican Party is expected to bail on the top of the ticket (G. McKinstry) even though the New Rochelle Republican City Committee at the time had never discussed this option. No such action was taken. The story was conveniently printed only two days before the League of Women Voters Mayoral debate. I attended that debate and was impressed with the questions and answers of St. Paul.

Several days later another article in the Journal News (Ned P. Rauch) made it obvious this is a David v. Goliath race because St. Paul has only five thousand dollars in campaign funds while Noam Bramson has $205 thousand. But we all know David triumphed over the great Philistine Warrior using a sling shot and a few stones,

For a long time I have noted many important issues supported by St. Paul on Council. He has called for IDA (Industrial Development Agency) revisions, responsible development, auditing of department invoices, and not allowing candidates to take campaign contributions from developers.
But the present 4 – 3 Democratic majority on Council has not allowed him and the Republican Councilman to make these needed changes.

Election day will soon be here and voters should look at the past accomplishments of St. Paul which are truly why he should be our next Mayor.
