New Rochelle Turns Out to Honor Veterans

The United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association, in cooperation with the City of New Rochelle Department of Parks & Recreation, held a Veterans Day Service at the United Veterans Memorial Plaza in downtown New Rochelle today.

Peter Parente of the UVMPA served as Master of Ceremonies and made the opening remarks followed by Mayor Noam Bramson and Former New York State Veterans Administrator Ron Tocci.

The invocation and benediction was offered by UVMPA Chaplain William Moye. The New Rochelle High School Symphonic Band led by Conductor Robert Freeberg performed the National Anthem and God Bless America, Saul Backer performed Taps.

Honored by the UVMPA for their contributions to the annual Memorial Day event were Charles McLaughlin, Kathy Gilwit, AJ’s Burgers, Pronto Pizza and Trattoria, Post Road Ale House, Stop & Shop, Shoprite, New Rochelle Chevrolet, Monroe College, New York State Crimestoppers, James Murphy, Sound Associates of Yonkers, Manhattan Beer Distributors, Pepsico, USO Liberty Belles, New Rochelle Police Department, New Rochelle Fire Department, J&R Tours, Bill Zimmerman, New Rochelle TV and West Point Jazz Knights.
