Filming Project at New Rochelle City Hall Disrupts Parking Thursday and Friday; Coen Brothers Movie

Ethan and Joel Coen are in New Rochelle shooting scenes for their current project, Inside Llewyn Davis, due out in 2013. Filming will take place at City Hall on Thursday, February 16 from 12 noon to 2am on Friday, February 17.

UPDATE: Justin Timberlake and John Goodman, among others were in New Rochelle last night. The rotunda in City Hall was “dressed” with framed gold records on the wall. If you have further information or photos please send them along.

The film stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, John Goodman, and F. Murray Abraham. It is billed as a screwball comedy about the folk music scene in 1960s New York. Isaac plays the title role, supposedly based on Dave Van Ronk.

Parking restrictions will be posted in several permit spaces and metered spaces on Hamilton Avenue.

Parking will be allowed on the North side of Hamilton Avenue behind the “Snow Emergency” and “No Parking 8am-4pm” sign on Wednesday, February 15 at 4:30pm and on Thursday, February 16 until 4:30pm. No parking will be permitted behind the “Snow Emergency” and “No Parking 8am-4pm” sign in back of the pillars after 4:30pm on Thursday night.

On Friday, February 17, all vehicles must be returned to assigned city parking areas.

The parking plan also necessitates prohibiting parking after 4:30pm on Thursday, February 16 in the City Hall lot in back of City Hall. Among spaces that will be affected are all of those along the PD wall, the handicapped spaces approaching the building and other permit spaces on Beaufort and in the lot.
