I share this article because I thought some readers might knowing about this as it informs my beliefs regarding the creeping socialism in this country today and misguided efforts at the local level like the Mayor’s GreeNR plan. When you understand the true nature of socialism or fascism (flip-sides of the same coin) you tend to appreciate better the implications of what happens when the government has greater and greater control of the economy. There is a tipping point at which the government is making all meaningful decisions in our lives. It is at that point that values of the society because the values of whoever is in power. Unfortunately, we do not always get a “philosopher king” as our leader. In fact, history has shown that socialism and fascism are always The Road to Serfdom.
