County Executive Robert P. Astorino will deliver the 2012 State of the County Address on Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Central Jury Room of the County Courthouse, 111 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., White Plains.
The speech is open to the public. The courthouse location was selected this year because it has more seats for the public than the Legislative Chambers, used in past years.
In changing locations, Astorino follows a precedent set by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, both of whom moved their “state of” speeches to larger rooms to accommodate more members of the public. There is no added cost to using the jury room instead of the board’s chambers.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Those wishing to attend should allow adequate time to get through the building’s security, so as to be seated by 7:15 p.m. The public is advised that seating is still limited.
The speech will be aired live on News 12.
