our school district
We are seeing Chrissane and her board collegues trying to set things right.
Long way to go. The totally impartial website on NYS schools, “Great Schools”, has rated our district 5 out of 10.
I don’t like ratings of this sort as a rule, but they are meticulous in explaining their valuations as some of your posters on TOTS in being fair and really balanced on one of the most important criterion for City success and attractiveness to investors.
Let me repeat — 5 out of 10 — look at it for yourself, if a parent get on this website and defend your children as well as the children of other mothers and fathers who may lack your good fortune, intelligence or demographic placement.
More is expected of you. You know that. So, check the website for Great Schools, and support Chrissane and her new colleagues while gracefully asking the status quo dinosaurs to retire with honor.
Enough I should think. If you are beguiled by flowery language, sophistic partial truths or just plain insincertiy, stay as you are.
If not, force the City to change its ways in all significant quadrants in the lives of our neighbors.
Do it and do it now. It is a blessing, mitzvah, just what real men and women do when the moment for change is long past due.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, let’s
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, let’s see if I got this straight. 2,500 voters went to the polls, yet the uncontested school board candidates only received 1950 & 1700 votes? Something tells me the electorate wasn’t too happy with this years choices.
Those are rather pathetic showings and the Library board vote even more so. Democracy at its best (lol).
BTW, did anyone else notice on the results scroll bar on News 12 that NR had 1 of largest percenage increases in the area? Mt. Vernon voted on 0% increase & most were around the 2% cap. Maybe this years 67% passage rate will embolden the district to try & override the cap next year.
