Bonannos File Defamation Lawsuit Against Talk of the Sound Publisher

Written By: Robert Cox

Here we go again…

Adam Klasfield of Courthouse News Services is reporting that Vincent James Bonanno and James Vincent Bonanno have filed a defamation lawsuit against me. According to Klasfield the Bonannos seek unspecified punitive damages for seven counts of defamation.

I would like to comment on the lawsuit but am unable to do so since I have yet to see it. Apparently it was filed last week. I left a voice mail message with Bonanno’s lawyer seeking to obtain a copy of the complaint. So far that call has not been returned. Rest assured, I will scan and post the lawsuit as soon as I get a copy.

UPDATE: A reader obtained a copy of the lawsuit and a summons off the web. This is the first I am seeing them and so I share them with my readers. Enjoy!

The Bonannos have previously filed a number of criminal harassment complaints against me, all of which were determined to be unfounded by the New Rochelle Police Department and Westchester County District Attorney. From the Courthouse News Services article it appears that Jimmy and Little Jimmy are barking up the same tree with the civil lawsuit

CASE CLOSED: Westchester County District Attorney Rejects Harassment Claim Filed by James Bonanno Against Talk of the Sound Reporter

James “Little Jimmy” Bonanno filed a harassment complaint against your intrepid reporter last week which was rejected by the Westchester County District Attorney because the actions described in the complaint were not illegal.

Doh!

CASE CLOSED II: Westchester County District Attorney Rejects Another Phony Bonanno Harassment Claim Against Talk of the Sound Reporter

Vincent “Jimmy” Bonanno, the father of James “Little Jimmy” Bonanno, recently filed a harassment complaint against Talk of the Sound reporter Robert Cox. The complaint was dismissed as baseless by the Westchester County District Attorney because the actions described in the complaint were not illegal. This is the second such rejected complaint filed this month. Little Jimmy filed his own complaint last week which was rejected by the DA on the same grounds.

Double Doh!

Courthouse News reports:

Father and son public school groundskeepers who share a surname, but no association, with an infamous crime family claim that a Westchester radio program defamed them as criminals to more than 5 million listeners.

I will say that I am excited to learn that I had 5 million listeners at WVOX. Who knew?

In April an attorney for Salvatore “Sal” Porretto who works under Bonanno at the Cliff Street yard retained a lawyer who threatened me with a defamation lawsuit if I did not remove an article on Vehicle E-47. The attorney claimed that the article was defamatory yet when offered the opportunity to correct the record, he declined to respond or otherwise identify any inaccurate information in the article. The exchange with Porretto’s lawyer is added as an update, at the bottom of the article.

Stay tuned….
