Police Officer Adalberto Aguilar Honored by New Rochelle Police Department for Police Work on Webster Bank Robbery

AdalbertoAguilarPolice Officer Adalberto Aguilar was appointed to the Department in January 2006, and is currently assigned to the Police Services Division’s Traffic Unit. He is the recipient of one Lifesaving Award, two Commendation Awards and a Five-Year Perfect Attendance Award On August 9th , at approximately 12:17 pm, the Department received a 911 call advising that there was an armed bank robbery in progress at the Webster Bank on River Street. Two male subjects were seen fleeing the bank and entering a blue Ford Escape. Officer Aguilar, believing that the suspects may be heading towards 1-95, entered the highway, spotted the vehicle and began a pursuit. At one point a passenger threw a handgun from the vehicle onto the highway. The vehicle struck a guardrail by exit 14 and the three suspects were arrested, and the handgun was recovered. In recognition for his outstanding work, Police Officer Adalberto Aguilar was designated Officer of the Month for August 2011.

Each year, as part of National Police Week each May, the City of New Rochelle acknowledges outstanding police officers and units. The 2012 New Rochelle Police Department Awards Ceremony was held at the Greentree County Club on May 16th.
